Amanda & Chris’ High Line Wedding Photography
In the waning light of a beautiful June day, I had the great pleasure of photographing Amanda and Chris’ wedding. It had a natural, urban feel as they shared their first look on The High Line on Manhattan’s West Side. I enjoy weddings which pay homage to the city of New York, and High Line wedding photography is always a special treat!
The bridal party looked quite chic in little black dresses and with bouquets of lilies, and the wedding party as a whole came together with inky onyx and crisp whites. It made the backdrop of brick buildings and concrete come life to behind them, allowing the city itself to become part of their group.
The actual ceremony, as well as the reception, was held at Studio 450. The venue boasted wraparound windows which bathed Amanda and Chris in bright afternoon light. If ever it were true that the eyes are the windows to the soul, it was on Amanda’s wedding day. The glowing light amplified the green in her eyes, and it was as though her vows shown through them.
Once the “I Dos” were spoken, the panoramic view offered a brilliant sunset and the guests sat down to dine with the newlyweds. It was a wonderful evening and I’m so pleased that I was there to capture it!
