Dana & Mike’s Wedding Slideshow

Dana & Mike were married on June 21, 2008 in NYC at Studio 450 – a wonderful loft setting with roof top access and panoramic views of the city. When the bride and groom were finishing their prep at a nearby hotel, I overheard a conversation between the groom and the bride’s father – the groom was trying to ascertain whether he should hug the father or would a handshake suffice.  Mr. C simply replied, “I think it’s a good day for a hug.” Congratulations Dana and Mike!

Wedding Product Spotlight: Queensberry Duo Album

When you’re out searching for a wedding photographer, you’ll discover that not only are there various photographic styles and approaches to wedding photography, but also many choices to display the final photography, especially albums. One of the companies that I offer is Queensberry, and they have an interesting product called the “duo album”. The duo album contains pages that are both matted and digital flush mounted – the perfect compromise for couples who can’t decide on whether they want a contemporary or classic style album – it’s both!

The above picture shows a current sample of mine: a 12X12 – 20 sided, Queensberry album with a 7X7 digital copy parent album.

This picture shows that the left page has one full size flush mounted image, and on the right, there are several detail shots that are matted.

The digital copy parent album is an exact copy of the couple’s wedding album in regard to picture content but scaled down in physical size (in this case a 7X7 album). NOTE – copy albums do not contain any matted pages, they are only digital pages.

Queensberry offers a variety of cover choices, for this particular sample album I chose an 1/2 photo front cover. Very simple, very elegant.

For additional info, please go to Queensberry’s duo page

Juhi & Dhinu’s Wedding Slideshow

Wow, what a day these two had! Juhi and Dhinu’s wedding was held on May 31, 2008 in Parsippany, NJ. It was my first full blown Indian wedding celebration complete with Sangeet, Tamil Ceremony, Baraat Processtion, and Rajasthani Ceremony. My second photographer, Richard and I came back to my office with nearly 8000 pictures – we were blown away with the amount of details, rituals, and cultural spirit that we captured. The following slideshow is just a small sampling of how the day unfolded. Congratulations Juhi and Dhinu!

Wedding Photography Tip – How Many Pictures Do You Shoot?

The great thing about digital photography is that I don’t have to limit the number of pictures I will take during your wedding day (not like in the old days, when we would show up with 10, 15, or 25 rolls of film and always felt that I had to hold back for fear of running out of film)- I average about 2500 to 3000 pictures per wedding (there are 2 photographers at every wedding – we’re shooting madmen!). I then do a careful edit and select the very best 700 – 900 pictures to upload to www.pictage.com, and then those online proofs are then proof printed. To ease the viewing of the pictures, all photographs online will be categorized (Bride, Groom, Ceremony, Reception, etc)- I also include a “Highlights” category which contains what I feel is up to the best 100 pictures of the day – many people use this category as a starting point for slecting images for their album or for final prints.
