What to Consider Regarding Various Hair Styles For Your Wedding Day Photography

When it comes to planning your special day, there are a wide range of areas you will need to plan carefully and thoroughly so you are given the day you always dreamed of. The church, the after party venue, the food, the cake; these are all aspects which can make or break your wedding day, but in terms of the bride, how she looks and feels on her big day is just as important.

wedding hair styles, for photography

Choosing the perfect wedding hairstyles for your wedding can be one of the most important things you decide on, next to the dress you choose to wear. When thinking about this aspect of your big day, there are a wide range of factors which you will need to take into consideration to ensure that you not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful too which will allow for stunning wedding photographs to remember your big day by. Many women may not take this into consideration, but your body type can help determine which styles will suit you best. In many cases, wearing your hair in an ‘up-do’ can help complement and lengthen your neckline making you look more elegant and in many cases, slimmer than your natural shape. This is a great way in which to make yourself feel more confident throughout the day and also help make you less conscious about your size when having your wedding photographs taken. It is also important that you take the style of your wedding dress into account also. Brides who have chosen to wear an overly accessorized or embellished dress may want to consider wearing their hair up in order to show off more of the dress to guests and so more can be seen in the wedding photographs. However, overly elaborate dresses should be teamed with simple, elegant hair styles so the final photographs do not portray you looking a little ‘over done’.

However, one of the best ways in which to choose the best hairstyle for your wedding day is to remember about your own personal style. We all want to look as beautiful and natural as possible on our special day, but the best wedding photographs are those where the happy couple look well dressed, smart and most importantly-comfortable. Look into getting a hairstyle which is comfortable and will not require excessive maintenance during the day. This will not only help to make you feel at ease, but will also ensure that your wedding photographs don’t result in you having different hair in each frame! Wedding photographers are there to capture your special day, but by wearing an intricate hairstyle, this could make your photograph time lengthen as you have touch ups made every few frames which can be extremely frustrating for your photographer.

Finally, one of the best ways in which to choose the best wedding hairstyle for your wedding photographs is to ask your photographer. He will be well aware of what will make a great photograph and what kind of styles may look best in terms of the composition of your wedding photographs, etc. Narrow down your favorite styles to a list of three and ask the advice of your hairdresser and your photographer on what they think will look best. When it comes to having the best day possible, it is all about planning but is also about ensuring you are as happy as possible.

Why are Wedding Albums Still Important in an Online Digital Age?

queensberry wedding album coverThose who are planning a wedding will have thoroughly planned every single aspect of their special day from the food to the venue and even to what gifts they would like to have from their guests. However, one of the best gifts they will receive will be from themselves by investing in a great wedding photographer to take images of their day which will help them remember their wedding for years to come. Weddings pictures are extremely valuable to many couples as although they may never forget the day they said ‘I do’, it allows them to relive special moments from their union. Wedding albums allow all of these special moments to be kept together and become a keepsake which can remain in your family for years to come. However, with the new advances in technology, many may feel that the traditional book method of storing wedding photographs is unnecessary, but wedding albums are still important regardless of these new technologies.

queensberry wedding album, white matted pageOver the past few years, there has been an increase in wedding albums being created online, taking away the physical element of a wedding album. Although this can in no way replace a physical album, it offers an easier and more practical method of sharing your wedding photographs with loved ones. This is great for those brides who are looking to keep their wedding album for themselves and wish to not have it looked through by numerous hands which can cause the book to become damaged. By having the photographs on the internet, this eliminates the issue of having family members and friends coming round in order to view images of your special day-they can now do this from the comfort of their own home. However, if your images are placed on to social networking sites such as Facebook, this can create a disadvantage in that the images won’t remain as special as they will be easily accessible by all users. By using the website of your wedding photographer, your images can be exclusively for the eyes of only those you choose.

queensberry album duo pageThanks to new technologies in both cameras and computers, the possibilities in terms of how wedding photographs can be captured, stored and viewed are endless. However, by only relying on an electronic version of our photographs, we are losing a key element in that our wedding photos are something which we will want to easily enjoy anytime we wish in the coming years throughout our marriage. For this reason, it is not necessarily practical to only have these stored in a digital format as in order to view them, we will need the use of a computer and possibly even the internet. The use of a wedding album will also allow the couple to create a memory book, including special mementos of the day and possibly even special images which have been captured by their loved ones which they would like to have a copy of.

In all, wedding albums are a part of tradition which will forever remain a staple example of the memories of a couple’s wedding day. Although online digital methods allow for ease in terms of sharing and viewing images closely; a wedding album will allow man and wife to one day curl up on the sofa and relive each moment together page by page.

Should a Bride & Groom See Each Other Before Their Wedding Ceremony?

bride & groom to see each other prior their wedding ceremonyFor those who love weddings, many will say that their favorite part of weddings is not seeing what the bride looks like or seeing the bride and groom say ‘I do’, but is in actual fact ‘the first look’. This is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time, which traditionally will happen when the bride is walking down the aisle. In almost every case, this will see both individuals beaming as they finally get to see each other and begin the journey which will seem them declared as man and wife. However, there are many that believe that it is a good idea for the couple to see each other prior to the ceremony in order to create some beautiful, unique images of that special moment; but exactly are the pros and cons of couples doing this?

One of the first pros is the chance to see each other away from your guests and over excited family members. Once the ceremony begins, you will barely have a moment to be alone together until your wedding night, so it is a great way in which to see each other and have some intimate photographs taken. Some guests may not like having to wait around for a long period of time while you are your spouse pose for photographs. By seeing each other before the ceremony, you and your partner can pose for images which will help shave off time after the ceremony for photographs. These will be truly special as genuine excitement, happiness and elation will be captured in your images. This will also help to ease any nerves which the couple is having. For the groom, standing at the altar can be one of the most nerve wracking things he ever does-especially with many eyes focused on him. By seeing his bride to be prior to the ceremony, this will help make him feel at ease and also eliminate any worries that she won’t turn up!

However, along with the pros come the cons. Tradition states that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony which is why in many cases, the bride and groom will even spend the night before their wedding apart. A bride’s gown will be one of the most precious items of clothing that she will ever wear and will often be the one thing which makes her feel truly beautiful. Many brides and even grooms wish for the groom to not see her in her dress until the moment comes for her to walk down the aisle making her dress all the more special. Having the first look occur before the ceremony can also be disheartening to the guests-in particular family members of the bride and groom. The first look is not only the bride and grooms first chance to see each other, but is also a chance for the guests to see the reaction of the couple as their eyes meet for the first time. If this has already occurred, the first look could not look as magical and is something which cannot be faked.

When planning aspects of your wedding, when you choose to have your first look should be one of the decisions which you make. Regardless of when you do this, you are sure to have a day you will never forget but the time in which you do this will not only be special for you, but also your family and loved ones.

What Do You Admire About Wedding Photography?

Photography is one of only a few physical items that couples will hold on to from their wedding day, and for that reason alone, wedding couples need to learn what options are available to them, and which are ideal for their wedding day.

As you start to plan your wedding, one question you need to ask yourself is – what kind of wedding pictures do I admire?

Here are four basic elements that many couples admire and love in wedding photography. While professional wedding photographers make taking pictures look so easy – yet, so much happens prior to the wedding day, behind the scenes, as well as the photographer’s vision that makes us admire these four photographic elements.

So many brides LOVE a photo-journalistic style. Essentially this means that your photographer does not direct or orchestrate the pictures. The photographer’s job is only to document the day, as it occurs, without disrupting the flow of events. A photographer who shoots in this style of photography, strongly values that the day should progress naturally, without staging or posing every moment. It is the actions and reactions of people who attend your wedding that will have the biggest impact photographically. Many love this style because the photo-journalistic approach yields pictures that evoke the most emotion.

#2: Traditional Portraits

Traditional portraits, also called formals, are planned pictures that the couple and the photographer must organize at some point during the wedding day.

The fact is, a wedding, can be a great opportunity to record the whole family tree and the new family that is also just beginning. Many couples believe that these pictures are very important because this event happens only once with all of these people gathered at the same time. Having these traditional portraits means that you can refer to them when you want or need to, a visual record of some of the closest people in your lives. Imagine for a moment…this is the one day when most or all your loved ones are in the same place at the same time – you may not get a second chance.

#3: Creative Portraits

One solution is to go beyond the traditional portrait and create something that is unique to the wedding couple. A creative portrait can define the essence of your wedding day and who you are as a couple. Although this creative portrait is a planned situation, it should feel relaxed or has just happened spontaneously. The success of a creative portrait is its emotional impact on the wedding couple.

#4: Love in the Details

You know the saying…”love is in the details.” This applies to wedding photography also. Brides (sometimes grooms!) work so hard to make everything just right. The details can be a reflection or give insight to the couple’s personality and passions. Details and found objects captured throughout the wedding day, will help complete the wedding story visually.

Your wedding photography assignment

Think about the photography you admire. What is it that you love? What do you want to see in your wedding photography? What’s most important to you?
