Hello 2010!

I had a wonderful week, celebrating the holidays with my family and friends, and however you celebrated the season, I hope you too had fun. Last night, my wife and I held our annual kids new year’s eve, where 8 pm officially begins the new year. As I sipped a delicious Haitian krema and watched the children run through the apartment, dumping food and juice as they chased, I thought about my life and reflected on where I am today. I had faced many many challenges in the last tens years, and while some caused struggle and strife, all have given me the inspiration and the tools to face the future. Does this new sense of confidence mean that I may be getting wiser? Only time will tell.  I celebrated the past decade with two major mile markers – I got married in 2002 and became a father in 2004. I’ve said it in the past and I’ll say it again – I’m a lucky guy. I can’t help but be excited to see what is in store for the next ten years of my life! What about you?

So as 2009 passes and I prepare for the new year,  I want you all to know that I’m truly grateful. You honor me and my family and I can’t thank you enough. I wish you the best for 2010 and hope the next decade brings you the same joy and happiness that surrounds me.

Weddings by Chris Leary Photography – New Logo

Hi Everyone,

Its been a while since I made any posts for my wedding blog, but as you can see, things are changing. I’ve been busy for the last couple of months working with a designer, and have finally settled on a new logo for my wedding business – and let me tell you that it was really tough to decide upon, I saw many excellent designs and wanted them all! In the end, I’m really happy with my new look for 2009. What do you all think?

Next week, I should have my new website finished, implementing the new look and feel of the logo, as well as updating my wedding portfolio.  Also on the news front, I am expanding my wedding business by adding three associate photographers – I’ll talk more on that soon with the launch of my new website.

Happy spring to all!

Happy Holidays!

xmas2009Happy holidays, everyone!

Each holiday season I successfully photograph many family and children portraits.   But when it comes to my own family card, it becomes one of the most difficult challenges of the year. Not only do I have the pressure of having to out do the previous year, but my angel, Hayden, suddenly turns into the anti-photo child.  This year my wife thought that since Hayden enjoyed being a knight for Halloween, we could easily get him to wear the same costume for our Christmas card. We live near the Cloisters so the theme was there for the taking!  When the day came to do the photograph, the costume was suddenly very itchy; apparently beyond wearable, though he did wear it for hours on Halloween.  In hindsight maybe all the sugar had some kind of numbing effect.  After many attempts at gentle persuasion, bribery, tears and then coercion, we mange to pull off another card. Yeah!

2008 was a wonderful year – I was able to experience new traditions and I enjoyed being a part of each of my client’s families for a day. To experience so much joy is uplifting. I am truly thankful and blessed.

Next year, I will be making some changes- I will have an updated website with a new brand identity, offer new products, and my services will include the addition of associate photographers. Also new for 2009,  I will run various contests and promotions throughout the year. My first contest will launch on January 1st and I will be giving away one free full day of photography to one lucky couple – be sure to subscribe so that you don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity and be sure to let any of your friends know about this.

My calendar is staring to fill, be sure to drop me an e-mail or set up an appointment early next year.

I wish everyone the best this season holiday season!

Peace and happiness,

Chris Leary

Vino in Villa 2008 USA

On June 5, 2008 – I photographed a wine tasting event at the Time Warner Building at Columbus Circle. The Consortium of producers from Conegliano-Valdobbiadene near Venice, the main DOC (Controlled Denomination of Origin) production zone for Prosecco, presented Vino in Villa 2008, a walk-around tasting of the finest Brut, Extra Dry, Dry and Cartizze Proseccos from 26 leading producers paired with traditional and eclectic fare. A very tasty and satisfying event!
